Bury brings extensive commercial development experience from Reuters, AOL, Reach PLC and News UK

New York, NY – March 4, 2021 – Dianomi, the financial and business-focused native ad marketplace for premium publishers (WSJ, Business Insider, and Reuters, among others) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Bury as the company’s first Head of Publisher Commercial Development. In his role, Bury will help to continue Dianomi’s strong record of revenue growth. He will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, driving the publisher performance strategy and aligning Dianomi’s publisher Product Development, Account Management and Business Development teams for continued growth as the business expands further into the premium lifestyle vertical.

Bury brings over two decades of experience having previously led platform commercial development and strategic partnerships for publishers including Reuters, AOL, Reach PLC and News UK, where he was responsible for growing advertising and alternative revenues across display, programmatic, native advertising, e-commerce and video. He will play a key role in helping to grow Dianomi’s business by implementing a publisher centric approach to commercial development.

What sort of person are you?

You have at least two years experience of digital advertising sales but not necessarily financial services related.
You have a strong interest in digital (including publishing or advertising) and an understanding of current advertising trends and ideas.
You are a good and clear communicator, enjoy working with clients and are highly organised and proactive in your work.
You have an eye for detail, a competitive streak, are a good analytical thinker, have a desire to solve that problem and you love delivering results which exceed expectations.
You think ahead and work with energy and integrity.

What are the hours?

We’re flexible – could be full time or part time: 10am to 3pm, could be three, four or five days per week.

The Media Sales team at Dianomi is responsible for evangelizing content marketing and native advertising across the world’s leading Financial Brands and their Media Agencies. This person will be expected to break new business by strategically and actively prospecting new leads.
Dianomi is world’s leading Financial Content Marketing Platform, serving 3.5bn Sponsored content recommendations to over 95M people each month across 250+ of the web’s premium financial publisher sites, including Reuters, Marketwatch, Nasdaq, Seeking Alpha, Business Insider, Bloomberg and CNN Money.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently build a large pipeline of leads to drive new business.
  • Build relationships with brand and agency contacts and explain the power of our native, Financial Content Marketing Platform.
  • Work with sales planning team to build and present proposals to our advertising partners and prospects.
  • Must have an understanding of digital technology and revenue ecosystem and be able to explain product benefits within this context.
  • Manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast new business closure rate and revenue booked.
  • Work closely with the EMEA director to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Interact with the Account Management team to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful campaign delivery.
  • Convey field intelligence to product management teams in regard to development features.


  • Experienced digital seller with 3-5 years experience.
  • Proven communication, presentation, phone etiquette and general sales skills.
  • Experience in a lead generating / sales planning / sales position, preferably at a digital media company.
  • Understanding of branding and performance campaigns.
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating deals within the digital media space.
  • A true passion for online content, native advertising and a strong sales drive.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data and in generated reports.
  • Excellent technological skills and ability to quickly learn what is needed to support the campaigns successful implementation and optimization.
  • The will and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Existing media relationships within the finance vertical are highly preferred.
